INTRODUCING OUR WONDERFUL NEW ADDITION TO THE FAMILY - "PERRY"
He was named at the suggestion of Stephanie after St. Perigrine (the patron saint of Cancer). Thank you Stephanie for the great idea. Patch is a much happier guy now he has a buddy once again. They play with each other until they wear themselves out. Perry's registered CKC name is "Renaissance Man". Don't you just love it?
The Renaissance man has been adopted to a wonderful family
Hope all the puppies are ok Have been busy here, but the kitchen and the main bathroom are finally done. Looks great well worth the work. I have attached the picture I told you about Lily and Abby. Had Abby to the vet for a weigh in, she is a monstrous 4 pounds and 6 ounces. Not bad for almost one.
Will talk to you soon.
Lynda August 2011
Then comes three..............................
Lynda and John and Abby came back for another baby. Lilly and Abby picked her our for their family.
Good day Fern! It was wonderful to hear from you!
We love our Nate! He is 6 yrs now and I would love to have a sister for him
but my husband still needs to think about it!
Your new addition is adorable!!!! How do you think Nate would respond to
having another puppy in the house. What is your experience with adding
an addition to the house that is already Nates
I hope all is well, I wanted to give you an update for Crixus. He's
almost 6 months old and doing extremely well, we have also moved to a
new home and are expecting a little boy (we were 2 weeks pregnant when
we picked him up). However, we are very happy and Crixus is doing
extremely well, he is doing his business outside and just loves us.
He's losing his teeth and biting a few things, but I'm sure all will be
over once all of his teeth fall out. He is doing extremely well, he
responds to commands and is just the most vocal little puppy with such a
personality like you could never believe. He makes us soo happy and
just a wonderful dog, again Thank you for letting us come by and giving
us such a wonderful little puppy. He makes us so happy and we will come
back soon to give him a friend once the baby is born.

If you have a dog ... PLEASE read this and send it on. If you don't havea dog, please pass along to friends who do. Written by:Laurinda Morris, DVM Danville Veterinary Clinic Danville , OHThis week I had the first case in history of raisin toxicity ever seen at MedVet. My patient was a 56-pound, 5 yr old male neutered lab mixthat ate half a canister of raisins sometimebetween 7:30 AM and 4:30 PM on Tuesday.Hestarted with vomiting, diarrhea and shakingabout 1 AM on Wednesdaybut the owner didn'tcall my emergency service until 7 AM. I had heard somewhere about raisins AND
grapes causing acute Renal failure but hadn'tseen any formal paper on thesubject. Wehad her bring the dog in immediately. In themeantime, I called the ER service at MedVet,and the doctor there was like me - had heardsomething about it, but... Anyway, wecontacted the ASPCA National Animal PoisonControl Center and they saidto give IV fluidsat 1 & 1/2 times maintenance and watch thekidney values for the next 48-72 hours.
The dog's BUN (blood urea nitrogen level) wasalready at 32 (normal less than 27) andcreatinine over 5 (1.9 is the high end of normal). Both are monitors of kidney function in the
bloodstream. We placed an IV catheter andstarted the fluids. Rechecked the renal valuesat 5 PM and the BUN was over 40 and creatinineover 7 with no urine production after a liter offluids. At that point I felt the dog was in acuterenal failure and sent him on to MedVet for aurinary catheter to monitor urine output overnightas well as overnight care.
He started vomiting again overnight at MedVetand his renal values continued to increasedaily. He produced urine when given lasix as adiuretic. He was on 3 different anti-vomiting
medications and they still couldn't control hisvomiting. Today his urine output decreased again, his BUN was over 120, his creatinine wasat 10, his phosphorus was very elevated and his
blood pressure, which had been staying around150, skyrocketed to 220 ... He continued to vomitand the owners elected to Euthanize.
This is a very sad case - great dog, great ownerswho had no idea raisins could be a toxin. Pleasealert everyone you know who has a dog of thisvery serious risk.
Poison control said as few as 7 raisins or grapes couldbe toxic. Many people I know give their dogs grapesor raisins as treats including our ex-handler's. Anyexposure should give rise to immediate concern.
Onions, chocolate, cocoa, avocadoes and macadamia nuts canbe fatal, too.
Even if you don't have a dog, you might have friends
who do. This is worth passing on to them. Confirmation from Snopes about the above .....
